You and your friends suddenly decide one weekend to visit Boracay. Of course, you need to buy plane tickets that would take you to the Boracay airport. It’s easy, thanks to online airline travel bookings. For some, traveling needs weeks –and even months– of preparations, but if your travels are unplanned, you don’t need to freak out. You can definitely visit Boracay with less preparation or no preparation at all.
You can choose between two Boracay airports: Kalibo International Airport and Caticlan Airport. Don’t worry if you don’t have a room to stay yet. When you land in Kalibo Airport, you’ll find different tourist guides offering room and hotel accommodations in the island. For first-time travelers, you don’t have to choose right away. Take note that you need to travel two hours more from Kalibo Airport going to Caticlan Port.
From Kalibo to Caticlan
The best thing to do in Kalibo is to choose the transportation going to Caticlan Port. Some locals offer vans for rent. You can also ride a bus. There are many Ceres buses ready to take tourists to the port. While on your way to the port, you may ask other passengers for recommendations on great places to stay in Boracay.
From Caticlan to Boracay
If you’ve arrived to Boracay airport in Caticlan then you’re now just minutes away from paradise. This jetty port has bangka pump-boats that take passengers to the island. Bangka fees are only Php30.00, but tourists usually pay Php 75.00 together with the environmental fees. Depending on the weather, the trip usually takes 10-20 minutes long.
From the Port to Your Hotel
Once in the island, you can look for affordable inns or resorts if you have a tight budget. Often, tourist guides will welcome you and lead you to establishments where you can choose room accommodations. During the peak season, however, expect a much higher rate even from inns and apartments.
When planning to have a luxurious time in the island and you’re not worried about spending a fortune, think about staying in one of the top hotels in Boracay. Once you land in the island, head on to Station 1 where you’ll find some of the best hotels. For reasonably priced rooms, think about exploring Station 2 and 3.
