Kayangan Lake
Most island hopping tours that comes with a Coron package includes a trip to this famous lake. Kayangan Lake is popular because it is said to be the cleanest body of water in the Philippines and even in the entire Asian region.
You’ll have to prepare yourself for a short hike. By this, we mean climbing about 50 steps up where you will see a small entrance to a cave, which will give you a beautiful view of the Coron island. After which, you’ll have to go down 30 steps to reach the lake.
Before you jump into the lake with excitement, don’t forget to wear a life vest. The water is deep but it offers an underwater visibility to about 10 meters.
Twin Lagoon
The Coron package with island hopping tour from Hopping Buddies Travel & Tours includes a trip to the Twin Lagoon. These lagoons are enclosed by the walls of Mt. Calis. A wall of rock separates the two lagoons. To get to either of the lagoons, you have to snorkel your way through a hole if the tide is low enough. However, the tide is high, you have the choice to kayak through the lagoons.
The water at the inner lagoon is brackish. This means, there is a mix of salt and fresh water in the area. In some part of the lagoon, the water is warm while in other parts, the water may be cold. Also, some area have crystal clear water and some have murky water.
Siete Pecados
Another site included in a Coron package with island hopping tour is Siete Pecados. The reef is named as such because it is surrounded by 7 islets. Don’t forget to bring some bread so you can feed the fish when you snorkel in the area.
